Sarah began her work in the medical field as a CNA at Highlands Medical Center in 2010. She transitioned to be a YAP advocate with the Youth Advocate Program where she continues to work part time to provide direct services to vulnerable and high-risk needs youth and families by identifying and nurturing their gifts and talents to empower them with tools to help them succeed. She was worked with a wide range of families and youth within the community. She has experience working alongside social workers, therapists and juvenile probation officers in an effort to provide services. Sarah is responsible for providing advocacy services to child victims and their non-offending caregivers when sexual abuse and/or serious physical abuse has been alleged. She provides follow-up support and is involved in coordinating intervention services that have been recommended by the MDT members, identifying any barriers that may prevent the family from receiving services, assisting with documentation and advocating for service implementation. Sarah is married and enjoys reading and spending time with her family including her two dogs.
