Director, Cheryl Long
Cheryl grew up in Jackson County, Alabama. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 20 years experience. She obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama and her Bachelor of Social Work from Alabama A&M. Cheryl has experience as a medical social worker for Highlands Medical Center and ABC Hospice. She was a social worker for Jackson County Department of Human Resources and did her social work internships at DeKalb County Children’s Advocacy and Mountain Lakes Behavioral Healthcare. Cheryl serves as both a Director and a Certified Forensic Interviewer.
As Director, she is charged with the responsibility of carrying out the purposes, policies and programs of the Jackson County CAC as determined by the Board of Directors. She is responsible for facility management maintenance and day-to–day operations, data entry into the case tracking system and functions as the personnel officer to staff and volunteers. She also conducts forensic interviews using research based interview protocols and techniques.
Cheryl is a married mother of four daughters and four grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, hiking, spending time with her family and raising Great Danes.
