Case Management
The Multidisciplinary (MDT) team meets monthly at the Jackson County Child Advocacy Center or Jackson County DHR to discuss the status of all ongoing child abuse cases. The purpose is to provide, promote and maintain interagency and multidisciplinary team cooperation and coordination in case management of child sexual abuse and child physical abuse. To support the Jackson County Children’s Advocacy Center, Inc., activates to effectively provide a coordinated interagency and multidisciplinary team approach to the investigation, case management, treatment, legal components of all child sexual abuse, physical abuse and witness to violence cases through referrals for forensic interviews and therapy for victims. To reduce the absolute minimum number of interviews of child abuse victims and minimize re-victimization to the child.
Members include Department of Human Resources Supervisor, District Attorney and/or Assistant District Attorney, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Investigators, Scottsboro Police Department Investigator, Juvenile Probation Officer, Crisis Services of North Alabama, Mountain Lakes Mental Health, Jackson County BOE, CAC Caseworker, Therapist and Family Advocate.
